Isn’t Pwangai-Noon and traditional Uech-Ryu Karate-Do excellent, don’t you think?
From my experience it is a real cracker.
But why isn’t UFC competitors from these schools. I mean no discredit to their performance, they could still beat most of us yet Okinawan styles were built from Chinese Warfare Combat built for the greatest Sparring and Combat.
Iron Body Sanchin, 50 Kata’s(Sanchin, Kanshu etc), 3-battle stand Matrix and Hojo.
Pwangai-Noon is even more effective.
Its time everyone got into this great system. Karate has become to regulated and Americanised while Taekwondo is now just a sport! Muay Thai offers bugger all technique just really a lot of fitness, which is good but One Dimensional.
Look up the ancient art of Uechi-Ryu and the Dharma and I think this chat line will become a lot different if not enlightened, when you realise these 2 Arts literally encompass EVERYHTING.
Yes of course the quality of the individual and whom is teaching you can work for anything. Where would of Garry Kasparov be without Botvinnik? Or Bruce Lee without Wing Chun?
Why do I like Uechi and Pwangai-Noon? Look to it and you will see that literally it covers everything! Taekwondo works well somewhat for kicking, Judo only for throws, Krav Maga for commandos and Muay Thai for the ring. However Kanbun Uechi has really made something here! I kid you not. It is like the style of all styles. Whilst style isn’t that important it is the substance it brings and with the 2 I have mentioned it packs a lot of that!

Matt,
I agree with you to a point. From your past post, it is clear that you believe that your style is the best. That is good. You certainly don’t want to train in a style that you don’t believe in. However, I have know a number of highly skilled students of many styles. The Okinawan styles impress me slightly more than the Japanese. But it always comes down to the individual and what they were taught. There are several people studying several different styles that are as good as anyone of any other style. Just my observations over the last 41 years. The cream always rises to the top.
