Emma

I don't know if there is a kung fu community to have an opinion of its own, but most TCMAs regard Hung Gar as an excellent style.

Maria

I studied Hung Gar when I was in Hong Kong in the 60s.
Hung Gar is a system with focus on building up strong body and powerful arms and stances. It is one of the biggest and most popular system in Guong Zhou and Hong Kong.

You can Google it and you will find a lot of sites and video in Youtube about Hung Gar.

Cole

Hung Gar, as it was done in the past, died out and was brought back in the 1970's but it is not the same as the origional art. As far as how it is viewed by the Kung Fu community...sorry but I am not into that community so I cannot answer that but I can tell you that they put on some great quality demonstrations.

its legendary. it's the style used by the famous hero Wong Fei Hung. look up his name, and the boxer rebellion. everyone has their own opinion, personally i don't think its any better than any other style or system.
